860 368 0073So how is the True North Farm CSA different from our farming neighbors? Traditional CSAs have the customer pay upfront and then the farmer decides what produce they will receive each week. Our innovative credit-based program includes the customer purchasing a share, but you get to choose what’s in your weekly bag! You purchase shares in the early spring, and receive an equivalent amount of credit to your account. Once growing season begins, we’ll post our available produce. You choose what you want, and the costs will be deducted from your available credits. Going out of town on vacation? It’s ok - you can just use your credits the following week! If you want to add more credits during the season, you’re always welcome to do so!
Another reason to join our CSA - it’s more than vegetables! While fresh vegetables grown using NOFA organic principles will always be offered, we also offer pasture- and regeneratively-raised poultry (chickens and turkeys), lamb and pork, as well as eggs and fresh baked goods. All will be available for purchase using your CSA credits.
But wait - there’s more! While our CSA pickups will end in October, customers have the option of using remaining credits to purchase our Thanksgiving bundle - a large bag of fall vegetables such as potatoes, turnips, rutabagas and pumpkins that will be available the weekend before Thanksgiving. Let us help with your Thanksgiving sides!
As with other CSAs, our produce options are dependent upon Mother Nature - good growing seasons mean more choices, while drought or storm conditions can slow growth. We will always be upfront with our customers about what they can expect, and will communicate frequently over the growing season.
